History of the Schuyler Fire Stations
1949 The first firehouse was at the old wooden highway garage on Windfall Rd.
1953 A new firehouse was built on Newport Rd. Called station #1
1956 A second firehouse was built on State Rte 5. Called station # 2
1984 Station #1 was remodeled – 4bays, TV room, Restrooms and Hall
                Work was completed by the Navy Seabees at a cost of $ 9,050.20
1997 A new firehouse was built at Station # 2
 
Fire Protection established for the Town of Schuyler in May 1953
1953 – Fire Protection cost was $ 1,438.64
1989 – Fire Protection cost was $ 60,000.00
1999 – Fire Protection cost was $ 64,000.00
2009 – Fire Protection cost was $ 150,000.00

1969 The First New truck was purchased at a cost of $ 17,390
                A 1969 Ford F-750 $ 10,640, Tank & Equip $ 6,750, Insurance $ 690
1969 September - The first new ambulance was purchased at a cost of $ 2,200
                A 1963 Cadillac – Ted Robinson gave us stock to purchase this ambulance.
1975 September – A Cadillac demonstrator was purchased at a cost of $ 20,000
1987 March – 1st Type 3 Ambulance purchased at a cost of $ 46,000
Ford Econoline - $ 40,000 by means of power authorities, $ 6,000 by means of Fire Company
1989 A new fire truck was purchased at a cost of $ 111,000
                A Ford L 8000 - Insurance was $ 20,000
1999 A new fire truck was purchased at a cost of $ 225,000
                A Freightliner FL-106 – Insurance was $ 18,020.50
2005 A new rescue was purchase at a cost of $130,000
                A Ford F-550
2006 A new ambulance was purchased at a cost of $150,000
