Firefighters are usually among the first to be dispatched emergency calls. The Schuyler Volunteer Fire Company responds to calls ranging from car accidents to structural fires, routine service calls to major disasters. We respond to approximately 125 calls per year.
Fire Police mitigate traffic flow to ensure our emergency vehicles have a quick, safe entrance and exit to the incident.
Junior members provide opportunities for career development, leadership experience, life skills, and character education. Department officers offer hands-on training and experience in fire and emergency operations while serving our community
Support membership is available for applicants who do not wish or may not be able to participate as a firefighter or first responder operations but still want to serve. Even though support/civil members do not directly respond to emergency calls, their function is just as important.
